Stepping up to lead. This was an interactive talk for Safia Minney's REAL Sustainability, day-long workshop. The outline here:
Our afternoon begins with an inspirational talk from visiting professor Caryn Franklin proposing that ‘when we are our authentic selves we are our most powerful’. Authenticity means questioning stereotypes, assumptions, unconscious bias and disrupting ‘informational cascades’ with our individual creative power. At an individual, organisational and system level every voice matters if we are to bring about change to existing, dysfunctional systems. More than ever before, we need to listen to women and front-line workers who are often muted by dominant culture systems. Knowing this we can practice self-efficacy tools to amplify our confidence and voices to power through obstacles.

Royal Albert Hall: During my days with the BBC I would yearly present the British Fashion Week Awards live from the Royal Albert Hall. I learned from Selina Scott never to be parted from my script even thought there was autocue. It could and did go down - leaving us with only a rolled paper to list to refer to. Live TV is never dull.
